“TWITCH”
“People can stand around and share movement with each other, whether it’s profession or not. That’s how it grows. That’s what dance does. It’s its own language” ~ Stephen “tWitch” Boss ~
Drawing tWitch brought back fond memories of when my youngest was a competitive dancer, attending dance competitions and conventions. At one of these conventions, we met tWitch and his lovely wife Allison. The dance kids were over the moon to have the opportunity to participate in a workshop taught by him and his energy lit up the room like no other. You couldn’t help but smile in his presence. We were shocked and saddened to learn of his passing. Shortly thereafter, I decided to honour the memory of this beautiful soul by drawing a portrait of him.
As I navigate the world of Art that is so new to me, I find myself learning new things in this industry. One of those things is how important it is to give credit to other creators/designers/photographers that inspire the work that I create. In addition to giving credit, it may be necessary to request permission prior to selling prints. I’m still learning what this means for my art piece and whether or not I need to request permission from his wife Allison, but I think it is a good place to start. I wish to find my place in this world as an artist that is free to express artistic freedom, while also doing my best to respect the Estate of Stephen “tWitch” Boss and any potential Copyright Laws on his likeness. For this reason, this art piece is pending permission from The Estate of Stephen ‘tWitch” Boss and/or his wife Allison and will currently not be available for sale unless permission is given. Thank you for your patience and understanding. ❤️
